Lawn Care Services

Mowing

Our residential mowing consists of a weekly cut, traditionally occurring on a Thursday or Friday. We do this so that our homeowners can have the weekend to spend their time enjoying their manicured lawn. We use high performance commercial grade mowers as well as 22” push mowers. We pride ourselves on straight lines and ensure that no grass clippings are left behind. We finish our mowing service off by trimming/edging all sidewalks and are sure to blow off all hard surfaces including driveways, sidewalks and patios.

Aeration

If you have problems with grass growing, dried or dead grass consider aeration. Not only will aerations help to increase water absorption it will help the fertilizer soak into the ground and strengthen the roots of the grass.

Turf Fertilization

Do you desire the greenest grass on the block? You can achieve this by selecting one of our 5, 6, 7, or 8 step programs. These programs help provide nutrients needed for a healthy lawn. The programs include:

In these programs you will find we offer fertilizer (providing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium), herbicide (used to eliminate the weeds) and insecticides (used to eliminate pests such as fleas, ticks and pests that can damage the turf).

Seeding

If you’ve had foundation settling or a bare spot in your yard, look to us to handle the grading and reseeding of your home and grass.

Landscaping Services

Design and Installation

If you’re craving a fresh look for your yard, we can provide a one-of-a-kind landscape design. Whether you desire a relaxing Zen garden, a landscaped privacy fence, or disguising an A/C unit or utility box, nothing is out of the realm of possibilities.

Edging

We provide a clean defined edge of at least 3 inches in depth from a metal blade edging machine. This can be provided to all mulch beds and tree rings.

Flower Care

Do you desire the look of a beautiful landscape with flowers blooming and vibrant colors on display? Well this dream can be you’re through our flower care program. We can professionally install annual flowers such as petunias, geraniums, daises, mums, and pansies to help add color to your landscape.
If you are busy or unable to tend to your flowers we can also establish a weekly fertilization treatment and watering service of these flowers to help them live healthy and bloom longer. If you have certain flowers and colors in mind please let us know and we will ensure that these are planted.

Mulching

We offer triple processed mulch in a variety of types. We apply bag mulch for a cost saving advantage to the customer. By not using bulk mulch, this allows us to provide better pricing, and a more efficient clean-up.

We offer a pre-emergent application to the mulch beds. This helps to reduce the amount of weeds that typically emerge in mulch beds.

Spring Clean Up

After a harsh winter, we offer a detailed clean-up of all old leaves; trimming back of all ornamental grasses, pine needles, dead branches, and a through clean-up of mulch beds.

Tree/Shrub Fertilization

All trees and shrubs can be faced with insects or diseases. It can be our job to provide the nourishment and protection from these debilitating insects. Our program consists of 6 rounds of treatment ranging from a Horticulture dormant Oil (spring), Deep root fertilization (spring & fall) and Insect/disease management applied 3 times throughout summer.

Trimming

Once June has arrived and the spring showers have passed, we recommend the new overgrowth should be trimmed to help maintain a neat appearance, uniformed with the traits of each and every plant. An additional trim can occur in mid to late September.

Irrigation

McLain’s can handle irrigation startups/shutdowns and maintenance to all irrigation systems, both commercial and residential.

We also have the knowledge and ability to install new irrigation systems as well as update an existing irrigation system by adding additional zones or changing how the zones disperse the water. Please contact us for a consultation about the irrigation services we can provide to you.

Fall Clean Up

After all the leaves have fallen and before winter sets in we can provide a fall clean-up and leaf removal service. Our fall clean up consists of cleaning of all mulch beds, removal of dead leaves, and branches.

Firewood

We deliver seasoned firewood to both residential and commercial customers.
